Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellows; Photography, Sculpture/Installation/New Genres (8/15/17)
"The Mass Cultural Council and the New Art Center in Newton join together to present the 2017 Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellows Invitational in Photography, Sculpture/Installation/New Genres. By bringing together Artist Fellows from different disciplines, the exhibition will demonstrate the inventiveness and vitality of today’s Massachusetts contemporary artists and photographers." Houston Center for Photography ( 6/1/17)
I have been invited to exhibit a photograph from my series "Oro" at the Houston Center for Photography. The 35th annual members exhibition was juried by curator Rebecca Senf from the Center for Creative Photography. Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship (5/22/17)
"Mass Cultural Council is honored to announce the 2017 Artist Fellowship awards in Film & Video, Music Composition, and Photography. The awards are anonymously judged, based solely on the artistic quality and creative ability of the work submitted. Applications were open to all eligible Massachusetts artists. A total number of 584 applications were received: 137 in Film & Video, 96 in Music Composition, and 351 in Photography". For more info and full list of recipients, click HERE.
Boston City Hall exhibition curated by Karen Haas ( 3/15/17)
"This exhibition will focus on the work of emerging photographers from the Greater Boston area and takes as its inspiration, a quote by Walker Evans: "Stare. It is the way to educate your eye and more. Stare, pry, listen, eavesdrop." Since 2001, Karen Haas has been the Lane Curator of photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston." I was recently awarded a five week artist-in-residence position to attend the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore, India. The award is in conjunction with the Massachusetts College of Art and Design's graduate alumni program.
Solo Exhibition : Garner Center for Photographic Exhibitions (9/1/2016)
The Garner Center for Photographic Exhibitions at the New England School of Photography has invited me to participate in a solo exhibition. My series "131: Scenes from Home" will be up from October 3- November 18 with an opening reception on October 13th.
